2nd orientation

*SORRY FOR THE DELAYS OF MY BLOG* this is the 2nd orientation blog I'll be talking about. in this blog I'll be introducing to you the differences about blog #1 and #2. for the first orientation I ever had was the bestest performance I ever did in front of the audience out of the other one. I was speaking fluently with no nervousness and actually enjoyed it for the first one. the group I took on a tour for the orientation was way more quiet than my 2nd orientation group. also, when we went on tours, it was more crowded than the 2nd time. for my tours I had, the 1st one was the shortest I had. that orientation went smoothly. the 2nd orientation was longer than I expected it to be. my group was way talkative and constantly asking me questions about the school than my first group I had. sorta stumbled across my words a little but was able to improvise. and I talked way more on the tour than the first time and got interesting questions that I never thought of. and there was more students that appeared at the 2nd orientation than the 1st one. the tour was not that quick than I thought it was, most of the kids had questions about each stop or whatever when I covered all the things that they needed to know. this tour was less crowded than the first and I was able to find more space to introduce the stops along ilima. so if I were to compare them in a few words, I would say that the 1st orientation was less hectic than the 2nd orientation.

if I were to say what we could've changed about the orientation was the set up of the tour. the tour was too crowded and maybe if we doubled up some groups and put 1-2 more leadership people in the tour for each group then the group would be feel more comfortable. and if we added more leadership people to the group to guide, one of them could answer questions that the other tour guide person wouldn't know. so we could use each other as a resource. but not only that, the way we had to change a lot got me stressed out because what if one of us forgot to bring one of our requirements that was important, how are we going to improvise last minute not knowing how to cover it? we got to think of the other outcomes that we wouldn't think of and shouldn't always depend on one person to get something or require something knowing that person shouldn't be depended on. I would've also wanted to ask questions to my group and see how they felt to get feedback to improve the way we set up the whole thing.

things I liked about the orientations was taking the kids on the tour cause now some of them can have an idea of what type of people are at ilima and will increase the population at our school. that can be an advantage. but not only that, we had a fashion show that entertained the audience. I'm sure that made it the highlight of the visit cos we basically made fools of ourselves LOL but also interesting what different cultures wear. things I didn't like was that it was too crowded on the tour and we didn't really time to get ready and prepare before so that we wouldn't mess up and also had a small room to get ready which would make some of us feel isolated.

busy weekkkk

*DIDNT HAVE MY PLANNER, LEFT IT AT MY FRIEND'S ON FRIDAY. ONLY GOT IT THIS MORNING* wow, this week was busy of orientation and forms being passed out. glad we're done practicing cause I need extra time with my friends since leadership is being "greedy" with me and I'm trying to keep up with my work and I got into an argument with Mrs. wert about me "making excuses", I just didn't have time to work on my project. not many people have time in one day to accomplish something. but anyways, I'll explain the periods for this weeks. Monday-5136, Tuesday-6241, Wednesday-135, Thursday-246, Friday-3512. 1st period (AVID), we worked on our debate for Vampire bats and TRF. TRF is tutorial request form. 2nd period (MATH), we worked on review of proportions and unit rates to prep for the SBAC. 3rd period (SCI), we did cornell notes on transferring of energy, and the interactions of animals with each other. 4th period (SS) we did our CFA and practiced for primary and secondary sources and worked on our islands of Micronesia. 5th period (LEADERSHIP), we practiced for orientation and took out unnecessary trash out of A101 and had free time. 6th period (ENG) we had SBAC and did our CFA.

highlight of my week would be going to a volleyball game last night with one of my closest friends that I barely see now due to school priorities. she decided to take me because she knows I'm into sports, especially watching them and that she knows we can catch up on things that we never talked about. it was so good seeing them play, my favorites are Pono #21, Kolby #6, Taylor #13, Scott #3, Davis #24, and Brooks #11. after they played we got to go up close and say hi to most of them and one of them kissed my cheek while majority just hugged me really tight. I got majority of their autographs and pictures, it was so nice seeig them play. and brooks proposed to his girlfriend! I got to witness everything since it was "senior night", omg. I cried so much. I'm totally going to the next upcoming game.

lesson learned was to be positive and don't let things get to you ๐Ÿ‘. always find the happy thing out of the negative thing, say as an insult like "you're ugly", it's just their way of saying "you're really beautiful" because they're jealous of what you have that they don't. and if they say "you really suck at playing..." take that as feedback to improve from what you did was wrong. always think positive of things and feel happy cos we don't have time to be wasting our emotions on certain things that shouldn't matter because we're young. just be free.

KOLBY #6 ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

1st orientation

recently, the fellow leadership students performed at the orientation and was able to do each job with quality. This was the first orientation of the 7th graders that got to perform in front of the upcoming 7th graders to Ilima. the first person to speak was Jahlyssa and she got to do the intro and introduce the class officers and the new principal of Ilima Intermediate and explain how she felt about being an upcoming 7th grader. the second person to say a few words about the school was Lori and she introduced the current 6th graders basically about registration day and what they'll be expecting when they get settled in as they register themselves. the third person was Kaylyn, and she got to explain what ISA was about and the sports and also shared her experience as a ISA athlete. the fourth person was Emma, and she shared about ACE (uplink) and got to share her experiences as one of the ACE athletes of ilima. after Emma, majority of everyone was changed and was able to go out and select who they'll be taking on a tour. the tour would be sorta rushed and some people need to learn how to make space for other groups and consider realizing that all of us needs to finish our tours with quality and able to give the students an understanding. i managed to share everything with my group and was able to talk about what they needed to know. after the tour, we were going to introduce the bell schedule. Jayde was speaking for the bell schedule making her the fifth person speaking at the orientation, she explained what the upcoming 7th graders will be expecting to go to school about their schedule. for the sixth speaking at the orientation, it was me. I was speaking for the Fashion show, I explained what is required and what if fine or not okay for school. hopefully most of the students payed attention instead of laughing and talking during the presentation, cos it's very important for them to understand the uniform and dress code policy allowed at school. one boy asked about something that I went over already so it makes me worried if they even payed attention. as I briefly explained each thing that they needed to know, I was successfully to speak fluently and have no problems with stuttering this time realizing that it's time for the BIG thing. finally, the last speaker would be Cheana. Cheana was the closing of the orientation which means she went over a few things that was important for them to know when coming to ilima and was able to be pleasant about their welcome here. that's all that happened basically at the orientation.

highlight of the whole orientation would be speaking at the fashion show for the upcoming seventh graders at Ilima. I learned new things about myself that I thought I couldn't do which was showing my confidence and responsibility to not only the students but Mr. ing. throughout the orientation, the fashion show was the most entertaining that happened that amused them in my opinion because that was where I saw them mostly laugh and smile at the creativity we put together as one.  I enjoyed it the most throughout the orientation because everybody got to dance and I got to speak for every part of the presentation to present the requirements or what's okay for school or not okay for school. I'm hoping that everyone got the central idea of the fashion show because I put so much effort into practicing late at some nights to get the speaking down for everyone to understand me, I even practiced in front of my friends for me to feel comfortable.

Glo 1: I was a self directed learner because I was able to practice the face routines with my group and was able to practice on my own to memorize the speaking part of the fashion show
Glo 2: I was a community contributor because when it came to working with a group, I participated in everything such as dancing altogether and practiced with everyone with the speaking.
Glo 3: I was a complex thinker because when I stumbled across a problem such as forgetting what to say which speaking,  I managed to improvise and substitute it with something similar.
Glo 4: I was able to be a quality producer because I managed to speak briefly without messing up during the real event and show my effort from all the other practices.
Glo 5: I was able to communicate clearly when I shared my ideas, everyone was able to understand it and asked questions if they had any concerns and I managed to have an answer for them.
Glo 6: I was an effective and ethical user of technology because I was able to work with technology, I was using a headset mic that I used during the orientation and managed to turn it on and how to use it and set it up appropriately for myself.

lesson learned would be don't be afraid and conquer the impossible. don't be afraid of something that puts you in the "shadow". In order to get rid of that shadow you have to shine some light on it which means find a solution that can solve your issue with a certain thing. be confident in what you do and always think positive and think that you can do more than what you think you can do. conquer those doubts that you have in mind about something because it's a barrier for you in life that prevents you from doing the beyond which is why you need to do the impossible. nothing is impossible if you make it possible. make a change to your lifestyle and live more thrilling with no regrets or doubts.

if were to change anything about this orientation, I think I would have to take more brief pauses between my paragraphs and make more eye contact with the younger students. eye contact is always the key because it gives them your focus and demonstration on what needs to spread out there. also, taking brief pauses helps them process the information in their head in order to understand what is okay for school and not okay for school.

second week of 4th quarter

laaaame title for this blog. very busy week with practicing orientation, ahh. variations things happened this week and I'm trying to multitask ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. but anyways, this week was short like usual and there was no school on Friday because of Good Friday. here's the periods, Monday-1354, Tuesday-2465, Wednesday-351, Thursday-462. for orientation, I'm the narrator and I didn't work this week cos I'm I'm charge of collecting grad. forms and passing out banquet and 7th grade class day. 1st period (AVID), we did our CFA #4 and binder check. 2nd period (MATH), we did our CFA #4 and unit rates review. 3rd period ( SCI), we did transfer of energy and did our test on it. 4th period (SS), we did our CFA and worked on 3 parts and details. 5th period (LEADERSHIP), we did orientation practice all week. 6th period (ENG), all we did was SBAC.

highlight of my week would be on Good Friday! on Good Friday I got to go to pearls with Cheana, Kaya, and Keaho. as soon as we got there, we had a snack and then we went to watch Fast 7. Fast 7 was so sad at the end, I want to watch it again! missing Paul Walker at the moment. after that we just walked around and had long af' conversations with each other until the mall was going to close. and then we headed to Cheana's and slept over except Keaho. it was such a fun night, it would be a night to remember because I never really went to pearls with my friends and actually had fun going there. hoping that we'll have another day like this ๐Ÿ™

lesson learned would be to forgive others and their mistakes. forgive others because you don't know what it'll mean for you in the future, let that person have closure. no matter what they done to you, forgive them so they won't spend their life with the greatest impact that'll change their lives. but always make careful decisions to those who deserve it because some may take advantage of you and tell you "sweet" lies and won't mean what you are to them. remove negativity from your life and replace it with positivity.

first week of 4th quartahhhh'

busy week tbh ๐Ÿ˜ด stressing a lot this week but I'm stoked that me and my partner is almost done finishing our banner for orientation. totes not excited for it coming up really soon though cos I know there's gonna be loads of hassle. to start the quarter, we're welcoming Kalepo into my period (5th period) for leadership, surprisingly we have another boy but period 1 yet doesn't have a boy. on Thursday, we didn't have school because it was Prince Kuhio Day so we got a day to relax and I spent it with Emma and Taylor of course. but anyways, periods of the week was
monday-3512, Tuesday-4621, Wednesday-513, Thursday- n/a, Friday-6243. although period 5 had an unfortunate week, we manage to come up with a plan that'll help us be ready on time for next week. period 5's job for the week was music, unexpectedly the class officers were chosen to be in charge of giving out forms to 7th & 8th grade so I'm not working my period's job for 2 weeks. I'll transition into what I did this week that happened in my classes. 1st period (AVID), we were assigned to do our S/D template about the article we based on our assignments but before that we finished what we needed to finish with our papers that filled out S/D chart then we reviewed about tutorials. 2nd period (MATH), we learned area of composite shapes and we cleaned out our folders and settled in for 4th quarter. 3rd period (SCI), we took CN on Transfer Of Energy and did our CFA #4. 4th period (SS), we shared what we did over the break and did a Critical Read Practice. 5th period (LEADERSHIP), we worked on our banners majority for the time and finished getting down our dance routine. 6th period (ENG), all we did in English was SBAC practice to prepare us for next week.

highlight of my week would be preparing my sister for her first Junior Prom with her boyfriend, Branden. it wasn't that bad tbh, I got to take pictures of her and him before they took off. although they were late by an hour, they still made it out stunning ๐Ÿ‘. even though my sister was so criticism today towards her boyfriend, she still kept a smile on her face. I felt bad for Branden because she was so mean to him LOL, idk how he deals with her but I'm glad he does. surprisingly, my dad got his lei for my sister to give to Branden. my dad was extra nice to my sister's branden and he's always fine with her staying out late with him which is good because he trusts him with her. me and branden have this typa love-hate bond with each other, he's like another brother to me. the prom should be ending in about few minutes (@11:00 pm). I'm stoked to go to my banquet cos I know I can go to my other older sister for my makeup, she did a really good job within a limit amount of time. although the dress had few of the jewels hanging, it still looked lovely. it was such a hassle finding that dress in Cali because that was her main focus which prevented us from actually having quality time and enjoying Cali for majority of it, but I'm glad she found the dress she liked. stoke to hear what my sister has to say about her first prom in highschool.

lesson learned of the week would be to create a solution. creating solutions help you conquer your barriers in life in order to achieve your objective within a limit of time. without solutions, how are you suppose to get far in life with obstacles preventing you from doing something or making your life easier? that's why it's important to find a way out of it. there's always a way to fix a problem. those barriers or obstacles may be a distraction to you which causes you not getting to a point in life where you should be. solutions on the other hand benefit you in every possible way by making your life easier and pushing away that distraction/obstacle/barrier.

last week of 3rd quarter

wow this week went by hella fast. stoked for spring break cos I'm going Cali bounds ayy ๐Ÿ’. but anyways I'll talk about this week. Monday's periods were 4,6,2,3. Tuesday's period were 5,1,3,2. Wednesday's was 6,2,4. Thursday's was 1,3,5. Friday's was 2,4,6,1. I didn't like how my week ended for 3rd quarter, I cried a lot on the last day because of what somebody did to me ๐Ÿ˜… it's aight though. but for 1st period, AVID, we worked on our time management booklets and our display case of our reflections from the whole quarter. 2nd period is math and we learned around area and perimeter and circumference of 3 types of geometric shapes (Circles, squares and rectangles). 3rd period we worked on our fossil booklets the whole class time throughout the week. 4th period, we took a quiz based on how much we know about which islands have ties with who. 5th period, I had free time to work on my hw. 6th period, we watched a movie and we shared our projects throughout the class time for the whole week. and that's basically all, it was mellow week for me at school.

highlight of the week would be going to the Green world Coffee Farm. the coffee was so delicious! although I barely drink coffee, I love the taste of it tbh and I really like butter nut rum! you guys should really try it. I got to go and see the farm where they grow the coffee beans, it smelled so cool and it looked soo beachy themed. I love wahiawa, they always have beautiful places there.

lesson learned would be to forgive those who deserve your forgiveness. I had a rough week on Thursday and Friday, cried so much. this person did something that basicly ruined my days at school that I won't be able to forget. I wouldn't think they would do that to me but they did which made me hella upset and it made me lose all my motivation for school since I didn't wana see them. I wasn't mentally ready to see them but I was able to handle whatever I would face. s/o to the people who comforted me and helped me wipe my tears!

favorite week out of the whole school year ✊๐Ÿ’œ

ayyy, 7-2 won for spirit week overall so I'm pretty happy. 7-2 reppin' ✊๐Ÿ’œ. this week was so exciting tbh, especially with the cheer off on Friday. I love my team so much, we really put in so much time and effort into everything and we bonded more. although I missed a bunch of practices for my cheer off, I managed to still participate and get the moves down. anyways, Monday's periods were 5,1,3,6 / Tuesday's periods were 6,2,4,5 / Wednesday's periods were 1,3,5 / Thursday's periods were 2,4,6 / Friday's periods were 3,5,1,4. 1st period was AVID and all we did during AVID was work on our time management book, I got to finish early and help the other students with theirs. 2nd period was math and we learned about integers step-by-step to make it easy for us to learn about them. 3rd period was science, and for science we worked on our fossil project for Thursday. 4th period, we worked on questions and notes about foreigners that was in Oceania. 5th period was leadership, we got to get ready for spirit week and I got to test out the tricycle, that was really hard lol. 6th period was English and we worked on our English project that is due Monday. but I'll tell you the dressout theme for each day. Monday's was sports, Tuesday's was Neon, Wednesday's was Aloha, Thursday's was military, and Friday's was our team color. good job to all teams, everyone did good out there! glad to see my friends participate. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’ฆ

highlight of my week would be Friday which was the cheer off. Friday was legit ✊ it was the best day out of the whole week tbh. I loved my team shirts, im hella glad I got team shirts to represent 7-2: Wolf Pack. Thanks to Mr. Barayuga that paid for all of our shirts and made it a surprise for us to find out later on. and thanks to Mrs. Akimoto & Mr. Barayuga for coming up with the cheer off dance! they made us look awesome and the way we collaborated together was one of the best dances I ever done. Special thanks to everyone that supported us and cheered for us, it meant a lot and helped with our nervousness. I got to put 7-2 on my left cheek with face paint and I loved it so much that I didn't take it off until the morning hah, but yeah. we were the smallest team out of 7th grade and we won, cheee'! it's all about the team bonding and putting in all our effort together and defining the defintion of teamwork with our actions, and in my opinion, we did all of that.

Lesson learned would be to stay humble and hope for the best. Don't show people that you're cocky and just stay supportive and hope for the best outcome you could get. No matter what happens, we did the best we could and we put in all of our effort on Friday. we all danced our hearts out and worked together as a team and that's what really matters. ๐Ÿ‘ฏ Have good sportsmanship and show what your team is really about. #7-2reppin'

REPPIN' ALL THE TEAMS ✊✊๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’ฆ
7-1 // 7-2 // 7-3
