The recent project that the leadership students completed was called the Video essay. The video essay is a project created by a leadership person (of course) and they tell you about themselves. You put all the information onto the PowerPoint such as your address, phone number, interests, accomplishments/achievements, email(s), new idea for the whole school, what do you have to offer, a picture of yourself with your name on the side of it duhh, and of course your video about yourself. It's just like the PowerPoint that we made for our first interview, it's another way to get to know us. The first slide of the PowerPoint, it's starts off with a picture and on the side or somewhere on the same slide is your name (ex. Tiana Julian). The second slide is your email, address, interests, and at least two achievements. The third slide is "what I have to offer", you basically explain what character traits you need to commit to for leadership. The fourth slide is your new idea for ilima, my new idea was to have a drama club at our school so that kids can express their feelings. The fifth slide was where you put your video for your essay. In the video you had to create along with the PowerPoint, you had to talk about yourself.
The highlight of the assignment would have to be choosing my theme. I got to look through many themes that was interesting but I found it hard because I couldn't find one that described my interests. I had many frustrations with this project, my lowlights would have to be that my old (VERY OLD) computer kept freezing, I kept messing up in my video essay, and I stayed up until 4 in the morning. Other than that, I knew I had to focus and get it done as soon as possible. I never gave up, I wanted to but I motivated myself.
During this assignment, I learned to never give up. Everytime I have the eager to give up, I always motivate myself. When I'm tempted to give up, I always find ways to push myself to do the best I could. As the seconds, minutes, and hours went by, the only thing I was worried about was getting this project prepared for the morning. Despite the obstacles and challenges I faced during this project, I managed to turn it in on time.
If I had to redo this whole project, I would want to redo the video. My video was suppose to be edited but the video didn't render in the app I used, it was glitching so that was one of the obstacles I faced. Another thing I would want to redo is the fonts I used, it was the only font that was installed onto my old computer which sucked because I only had one selection. But overall, I would want to redo the PowerPoint source I used because it wasn't convenient.
